I’ve always been very pleased that Georgia’s state bird is the Brown Thasher. They are related to catbirds and mockingbirds, who are always a pleasure to watch in the backyard. Brown thrashers find their food on the ground, “thrashing” about in the underbrush, foraging under leaves, brushes, and soil debris on the ground using their bills.
